Psychotherapy Services
The clients I serve experience in their lives the impact of Chronic Pain, PostTraumatic Stress Disorder, and Mood Disorders such as Depression and Stress. These can be accompanied by loss of function, employment, money, friends, and relationships among others. If you are experiencing feelings of
depression, anxiety, sleep disturbances, fear, anger, denial, disappointment, guilt, or loneliness, you are not alone and you can learn to reduce your emotional or physical pain, improve your physical functioning, reduce your psychological distress, and regain your quality of life.
I’m a licensed psychologist, formerly with Kaiser Permanente and the Veterans Administration, and most recently, faculty at the University of California San Francisco Department of Family and Community Medicine, teaching health professionals such as psychiatrists, medical doctors, and psychologists about chronic pain management. I also have experience providing individual, couple, and group therapy. I offer bilingual (English/Spanish) science-, research-, and evidence-based psychological treatments that include psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), client-centered, and Time-Limited Dynamic Psychotherapy (TLDP) therapies for individuals, couples, and groups.
